La Petite Anglaise Worldwide Wardrobe Competition

Endless hours spent daydreaming about Paris, mentally constructing the perfect outfit to wander around the iconic capital might just pay off….

La Petite Anglaise has teamed up with Travel Supermarket for their very first Worldwide Wardrobe competition. Five holidays are up for grabs; Thailand, NY, London, Ibiza and Paris. To enter all you need to do is put together an outfit for under £200’s (so you’ll need to be thrifty), inspired by one of the five holiday destinations. Enter all five or just one, it’s really up to you. I’m entering my ‘chic sightseeing ensemble’ for Paris.

Instantly I remembered this swishy, floral skirt from French Connection, teamed with neon yellow flats- just perfect for sightseeing. My look is inspired by my love for the 1957 film ‘Funny Face’, Audrey Hepburn epitomises Parisian chic. A splash of neon yellow and a flashy bling necklace adds a modern twist to this classic look. I included a large satchel rather than a slim clutch, somewhere to stash the macaroons!

Skirt £65 French Connection, Shoes £100 Belle by Sigerson Morrison, Necklace £10 ASOS, Bag £12.50 F&F, T-shirt £12 Topshop.

Fashion in 5 w/ Fashionista Barbie

Fashionista Barbie

1. What’s on your wish-list at the moment?

I have a constant wish-list on the go that always features a new handbag – at the moment it is a studded Rebecca Minkoff beauty, a statement piece of jewellery – currently lusting over rings, as well as a hot new Barbie – I really want this cute Catwoman one. Basically accessories, stationery and Barbie dolls!!!

Rebecca Minkoff M.A.B Bag

2. Describe your own personal style?

I tend to opt more for casual comforts than OTT glamour. Saying that I am trying to push myself and wear different things this year. To be honest I love nothing more than wearing jeans and a statement top teamed with a great handbag, an arm stack of bracelets and a pair of biker boots.

3. Which trends will you be working this season?

I am loving that the high street really picked up on all the 60’s monochrome from the catwalk, which is especially good for me as I do love to wear black.

4. Tell us about your favourite dress and what you love about it?

I love fit n’ flare style dresses and I have a gorgeous hot pink one from Whistles that I love. It basically brightens up any day and instantly cheers me up – plus it has three-quarter sleeves that means I can wear it all year round.

5. Your favourite under-rated brand?

Currently my favourite under-rated brand would have to be Gap. I know it is a big name but I only recently discovered all the great basics it offers as well as a great range of denim. I am loving my new boyfriend jeans I just bought and they also do great wardrobe staples such as blazers and stripy tees.

Astley Clarke Guide to the Galaxy

I would also have to say Astley Clarke – I am loving their delicate bracelets, perfect for stacking or making a statement on their own. I am also lusting after their stack-able rings – the ones with the stars on are amazing.

Thanks so much Danielle.xx

Fashion in 5 w/ Jayne Bibby WGSN

WGSN know all there is to know about future trends. They predict what’s going to be hot next season, next year and probably the one after that! Deputy catwalk editor Jayne Bibby stopped by for a chat……

What’s on your wish-list at the moment?

Having just seen the autumn/winter 13/14 shows in London and now Milan on my autumn wish list is everything from Topshop Unique and the longer-line skater skirt and astrakhan bomber combo from Ports 1961, astrakhan seems to be having a moment just now and I’m determined to get my hands on some.

Describe your own personal style?

Simple, sleek and quite tailored, I like to alternate between skinny trouser shapes, leather pencils and cute pleated skirts, retaining a smart aesthetic but with a feminine and girly edge injected through printed blouses, colour blocked tees and Breton stripes. I love to add colour through perfectly painted nails and a strong lip in red, fuchsia or plum.

Which trends will you be working this season?

The 60s monochrome looks for spring are a favourite of mine in graphic black and white, clashing stripes and checks for a bold, yet easy to achieve look that be worn as a transitional look and carried through to high summer. Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton did it so well on the runways!!

Tell us about your favourite dress and what you love about it?

I have a gorgeous navy, fit and flare dress decorated with a blistered texture – it’s so feminine and cute and also so easy to wear – I love it even more when people mistake it for an Alaia – just don’t tell them where it’s really from…………………….*whispers* Topshop!!

Your favourite under-rated brand?

I think it’s got to be H&M, the newly refurbed store in Oxford Circus has a clean and luxe feel in the bright white interior. The current collection looks amazing – so many pieces that have a high-end finish with their chunky knits looking particularly strong and oh so affordable!!

Thanks so much Jayne.xx
