Brand Intro: Muubaa

When all the planets align and the fashion gods agree, a brand that you admire makes contact and wants to collaborate- it doesn’t happen often but when it does, it feels like fate. So let me introduce you to Muubaa– a fashion brand that works wonders with leather, crafting pieces that are fierce but feminine, bold but not brash.

Leather is an investment piece but Muubaa moves past seasonal trends to create edgy items that will live comfortably in your wardrobe for many years to come. My current dilemma is whether to go bold and bright or nude and natural?

Which do you prefer…. bold and bright or nude and neutral, I just can’t decide?

Look of the day: Keeping up with the Kardashians

Look du Jour posts aren’t something I usually bother with on the blog. Mainly because there are millions of bloggers in our quirky community already posting daily photo’s of their carefully constructed look in some what of a religious fashion that takes considerable commitment. Plus I don’t know if I would feel 100% comfortable posting pictures of myself for all to see on the days I don’t make it out of pajamas!!

Fashion in 5……Belle & Bunty

Today Fashion Follows Her catches up with the fabulous duo Belle & Bunty for a quick chat. Alice Shreeve (Belle) and Hannah Coniam-Thompson (Bunty) launched Belle & Bunty in 2003 after meeting at the London College of Fashion, my old stomping ground. The lovely ladies answer a few fashion related questions and tell us what’s currently on their wish lists…..

1. What’s on your wish list at the moment?

Belle- I love gold jewellery so I’m always on the look out for something interesting. Zoe and Morgan do some lovely pieces which we are hoping to stock in our boutique soon.

Bunty- I have seen a coral coloured leather biker jacket by Carven that seriously has my name all over it!!

 2. Describe your own personal style?

Belle- Classic chic – with a bit of Tomboy Hippy thrown in for good measure.

Bunty- It varies with the seasons but generally a mix of 70s with a rocky edge.

3. Which trend will you be working this season?

Belle- I like the pastel trend for summer. Colours like that are so synomous with being girly and cute but they’ve crept over into more urban shapes which is much more versatile.

Bunty- The Wrist Candy trend. I love accessories and jewellery so this trend for layering up all your favourite bangles and bracelets suits me down to the ground.

4. Tell us about your favourite dress and what you love about it?

Belle- I love our Belle Dress – we made it for my wedding so I’m particularly attached to that one. I’d also love to make myself a Petal dress for a special occasion- in a jet black or soft nude ….just have to wait for the invite now !

Bunty- Aswell as The Bunty Dress which was my wedding dress style I love the Silk Kaftan we made in our Secret Garden print. As soon as the sun shines it feels fantastic to float around the city in it with some gladiator sandals and my old beaten up denim jacket.

5. Your favourite under- rated fashion store/brand?

Belle- Jewellery designer Clara Francis is fantastic. Her beaded pieces in particular are so stunning and intricate. The fact that she makes them all by hand is mind boggling!

Bunty- We have Love Art Wear Art shoes in our boutique – they are fantastic limited edition shoes which have great details, fabulous quality and a great price point.
