Olivia P: Splurge or Save?

Olivia P

Two years on and I’m still in love with Olivia P; her grace, style and beautiful manners… what’s not to love?!!

Here I’m stealing Olivia P’s style, looking at the way Olivia has teamed a stripe clutch with jeans and a sweater. A box clutch is usually reserved for formal outfits and show stopping evening wear, so seeing Olivia mix a formal clutch with casual jeans is great. I’ve selected a Lulu Guinness clutch and a ASOS clutch for those with more dash than cash (like me!).

Brand Intro: Muubaa

When all the planets align and the fashion gods agree, a brand that you admire makes contact and wants to collaborate- it doesn’t happen often but when it does, it feels like fate. So let me introduce you to Muubaa– a fashion brand that works wonders with leather, crafting pieces that are fierce but feminine, bold but not brash.

Leather is an investment piece but Muubaa moves past seasonal trends to create edgy items that will live comfortably in your wardrobe for many years to come. My current dilemma is whether to go bold and bright or nude and natural?

Which do you prefer…. bold and bright or nude and neutral, I just can’t decide?

ASOS AW14 Press Day

Part of being inducted into the top-secret Access All ASOS crew means I get to take a first look at what’s coming up next season ahead of time. It would be a crime for me not to pass this knowledge on so you can start making your very own ASOS winter wish-list. Watch out for the most beautiful azure blue, print dress that I’m coverting. Also take note of the opulent colours fit for a queen and the two-piece trend that will be prominent for A/W14.

Beauty Trend: Cuticle Tattoos

Cara Delevingne

I place the blame solely on Cara Delevingne for this beauty trend. The lion tattoo inked on Cara’s index finger opened the flood gates for something other than jewellery to adorn fashionable fingers. I like the idea of a bold display of art in such a prominent position but I’m not sure I could commit to a permanent piece of work that’s constantly on display for the rest of my life.

Rad NailsCuticle tattoos are a great decorative alternative without the permanent consequences. I first spotted nail tattoos at Ciaté but decided on Your Point from RAD Nails (partly because Ciaté had sold out of little bow tatts’ at ASOS and I couldn’t get my hands on them anywhere else for love nor money). I’ve upped the style stakes with a coat of No7 Vivid Violet polish on my nails with a glitter top coat from Ciaté on my ring finger and index nail tip.

Stripe Me Happy…

Stripe Trend

Stripes are springing up on Pinterest…. street-style, bloggers and celebs all getting their stripe on.

Olivia Palermo takes a coffee break, layering a monochrome top with a chunky crystal, statement necklace. Blogger and lifestyle guru Natalya of Five Five Fabulous rocks off-duty stripes at Fashion Week in Paris. Grazia snapped this stripy goddess at New York Fashion Week, working the stripe trend from head to toe. I’ve already bought the shoes and skirt in this edit, so just the necklace, top and bag to go then!

Olivia Palermo: Steal her Style

Olivia Palermo sauntered through London Fashion Week in her usual faultless style. Maybe I’m a little biased because I have a rather huge (and well documented) style crush on Olivia P.  Elegant and super stylish, Olivia mixes simple pieces with statement accessories to create a classic but contemporary look. If you’re going to steal, it may as well be from the best….

Access All ASOS

Team ASOS know the way to my heart…. via fortune cookies, statement jewellery (more on that later) and nail varnish.

The lovely folk at ASOS sent over a welcome box of goodies to celebrate #AccessAllASOS. Nothing says ‘hello’ like a golden fortune cookie teamed with a new pot of nude Barry M nail polish. This shade is Mocha and comes in a matt finish but I couldn’t help adding a top coat and a spot of ring finger bling. Perhaps pastels may not be my cup of tea but nudes suit me down to the ground.

And my fortune ‘An opportunity to learn is on your horizon’…. and I can’t wait!

Team #AccessAllASOS

Great news my lovely readers…. it’s official, I’m an ASOS Insider.

So what does this mean for you? Well it means regular behind-the-scenes ASOS updates, a first look at the latest ASOS campaigns and a rustle through the forthcoming collections. I’ll be attending the ASOS #AccessAll events and snooping around ASOS HQ, so expect lashings of gossip, competitions and collaborations. ASOS is one of my favourite online stores, the one I visit when I want something specific- I always find what I’m looking for at ASOS. #TeamASOS.

Fashion in 5 with Olivia Cavill

This week PR and marketing manager Olivia from Ciaté talks wish-list lust, Spring trends and which Ciaté colours you’ll find in her beauty box.

What’s on your wish-list at the moment?

I’m forever building my wish list on ASOS and have a tendency to over-order; needless to say I am a premier customer! I love mixing high-street with designer accessories, my Celine handbag is my most cherished piece but I have had my eye on the Alexander Wang ‘Diego’ for a while now, so it will definitely be my next splurge.

2. Describe your own personal style?

I like classic styles with a bit of a twist! My go to is normally a pair of J brand’s, my current faves at the moment are my J Brand leather trousers, with a plain top, paired with my pastel banana and peaches ASH wedge trainers. I like to update classics with statement jewellery; I am a sucker for a killer pair of earrings or a chunky cuff. As a beauty buff I like to keep hair and make-up fresh and polished, Becca being my all-time favourite make up brand.

3. Which trends will you be working this season?

I adore the pastel trend which is back again for Spring ’14 and was all over the catwalks, so I can’t wait to wear my baby pink ankle-grazing skinny jeans once the warmer weather kicks in! I’m also lusting after the Pop Art print trend and will definitely be buying into this as a Spring update.

4. Tell us about your favourite nail polish and what you love about it?

I am probably biased but of course my favourite polish is going to be Ciaté for its good quality, high pigment and long-lasting manicure, and its vibrant array of over 120 colours. My go to is always ‘Iced Frappe’ for a mauve version of a nude. For a more vampy, evening look, I turn to ‘Dangerous Affair’ for the perfect rouge noir.

Ciate Nail Polish5. Your favourite under-rated brand?

I love AQ/AQ for instant ‘wow’ pieces – the brand is a stylist favourite, which I still don’t think has had its time in the spotlight yet. I am also really excited to see the first Whistles fashion show at London Fashion Week this spring, not just because it’s one of my favourite stores but it’s incredible to see a British high-street brand to be invited onto the global fashion stage.

I couldn’t agree more, I can’t wait to see what Whistles come up with to wow us at London Fashion Week.

Thanks Liv

So so Saturday…
