London Fashion Week is well and truly over for another season. I think we can all agree LFW was on fire this season- in the words of BFC chief exec Caroline Rush, London created ‘the perfect storm’. Here are my LFW highlights……
– Marios Schwab
I have a soft spot for Marios Schwab, dark and delicious is always on the menu. This time capes, peek-a-boo slits and heavy, black applique created a suitably dramatic show. Off the shoulder, full-length velvet gowns gave a theatrical nod to a bygone era. Knitwear was sumptuous, snake-skin added a modern twist and patent leather amped up the sex appeal. Rich burgundy, warm cream, matte black and a dash of navy coloured the whole collection.
– Red or Dead
Red seemed to be present in almost every A/W13 collection, these are my favourites.
– Music and Fashion collide
Music and fashion are so closely linked it is not surprising the two often collide. Rihanna made her fashion debut with a sparky collection for River Island- no doubt a total sell out. Brit award winner Tom Odell set the tone at Burberry Prorsum, whipping the crowd into an emotional spin.
– Cara Delevingne
British Fashion Awards Model of the Year 2012, Cara Delevingne stole the Burberry show and appeared in 7 other London shows- Kate Moss in the making me thinks.
Oh Mulberry, why do you do this to me every time….. I just adore the whole collection, especially the accessories.
